Drywall tape for barrel removal?

Any paper works. I've used grocery sack paper, construction paper, even printer paper in a pinch.
^^^ this
I just cut a strip of college ruled binder paper
works great
if I need more grip I have split copper pipe, (copper grips well), then you can really lay into the barrel vise torque bolts if need be
---
one time on a stubborn old gun, I did cut an Oak block and used it in the shop press between plates
worked great
that one was not only torqued to the shoulder but the front of the tenon was torqued down tight against the inside of the receiver also, so 2 surfaces were torqued down against 2 surfaces of the receiver.
Neat idea, I thought when I seen that, probably more stable, probably more accurate but.
pain to remove, I think that was on a Steyr 1900
