Critter problem.

Got the area around the front door blocked off so the deer can't get to Momma's flowers. No game camera pictures so I thought I'd move it back around the back door to get some pics. LOTS of fallen fruit but not much being picked up or eaten. Camera should tell the tale.
Headed to the shed to get a nail to hang the camera on. Tried to open the sliding door and :eek:??
Got a pallet of "Wood Stove Pellets" stacked in the corner. Looked thru the crack and saw pellets all over the place and bagged pellet stack knocked over?? Must have been an earth quake cause the stack was pretty solid. Finally got the door open to see how REALLY bad the mess was. Pellets 6"+ deep in some areas and strung all the way over to the work bench. Total of 200 pounds of pellets, 5 bags ripped open and a BUNCH of other bags will teeth chew marks and tears on them. Got those bags taped up and re stacked. Had to work on that mess so I could get over to the rest of the stack. Found Coon Hair in the pellet mess so figured Coon got in while the door was open, caught some ZZZ and was stuck after I closed the door? Took all day and the canister vac to suck up all the mess. Lucky I had some empty bags to re bag the mess. Took a short brake and as I headed back out to the shed, small Skunk was making the rounds, saw me and darted into the shed. Waited about 15 minutes till it came back out and headed off in search for food.
Never did see the Coon OR how it got trapped inside the shed. All I saw was the mess it left.
Doing it's best to get the hell outa there!! Couple of coon turds and hair as evidence of the culprit. Door open all day while I worked and quiet when I walked away for a short time. Vac should have woke it up as I worked?? Still don't know for sure how long it was trapped in the shed or how it got in OR out. Seems like I hadn't opened the door for at least a few days? I do know the door will stay closed if I'am not working in there.;) Figure Coon is pretty constipated from eating wood pellets?;) :p Checked the shed about 10 last night (door closed) and all was well, so far.;)

Forget the trap. Sounds like a little Vodka would go along with the rest.

First time in close to 50 years I've had any critter problems. Found Coons sleeping in the Rabbit hutch a time or two. Wake them up and a few minutes later, they're gone. ;) Did have a Mink come in and kill 25 chickens in one night. Took a couple of dead chickens, a live trap and lots of patience to catch it. Trap lowered into the creek till the bubbles stopped did the trick.:)

Raising and teaching a Hawk to hunt for you? PATIENCE.:cool: Good job.:)

Use to raise Game Hens, for the eggs. Roosters were beautiful but each had to be kept in is't own cage. One Mother hen had a batch of chicks and guarded them with her life. Watched her jump up into the air, knock down a small hawk and beat the crap out of it. Never did see that hawk around anymore.;) She was the only live one left after the Mink visit.

Nice pics of the hawks in action. I get to see that often where I work. I work along the Mexico - Texas border along the Rio Grande. Working for Immigration I'm usually outdoors and have seen them hawks take down those fat pigeons in midair. It's a sight to see. Watching the hawks skim the Rio Grande water and catch a fish. It's just so nice.
