Criterion Barrels

You can go on savage shooters and look up a thread and read for yourself.I havent heard a bad word about them as they are kriegers button rifled company. Northland has them for a good price.

Im shooting one right now that I got from Jim Briggs of Northland Shooter Supply. Mine is a 30" 260AI and its a great barrel, i had a large supply of Nosler bullets and R19 so thats the only thing i have loaded for it, my best 100 yard groups are .5MOA. Im almost out of bullets and powder so i am going to be doing more testing soon but the barrel is capable of shooting in the .3s.

Not untill i decided to do business with him did i find out he was 2 miles away from me :o LOL

It couldnt have been better and ive done plenty of business with him now face to face and for the money you cant beat it with a stick.

Give him a call at 763-682-4296

i have two, one in 6 br and one in 260 rem. the 6br is shooting great and have not had time to test the 260 enough but is showing promise as well. would not hesitate to purchase another...

I have barreled a few old shot out rifles with them...they were definately first rate both in fit and finish as well as the way they shot.

I bought one of these barrels recently from Northland Shooter supply in 260 AI. I was doing some fireforming with minimally prepped Win 7-08 brass. After two fouling shots, the first 3 shot group was .250 CTC and the next was .140. I was really impressed. The throat is a little short for the 140s but I have been shooting them anyway. The barrel is lapped but fouls a bit worse then others. I am sure it will be good after a higher round count. Results are promising with this barrel. I have Lapua 260 brass that I am working on fireforming right now and results have been stellar.

Verv, sounds like were pretty much in the same boat, are you shooting the 30" large shank? Im also using winchester 7-08 brass, and considering Lapua. Im thinking about ether a smaller amount of lapua brass or buying a larger amount of winchester brass and weight seperating.

What powder and bullet are you shooting? Fireforming and fully formed. Thanks for the info.

got to test my 26 inch 260 rem barrel finally. Ten shot average with 142 smk and H4350 was 2905 fps. The best 5 shot group so far was .311 but most are in the .400 range(i need more trigger time). Have been very happy with both criterions so far.
got back from the range, they are gettin better

I have 3 barrels on order with Jim Briggs at Northland and I can't wait to get them to the range. With all of the really great reports that I am hearing about how well the barrels shoot, I know that I will be more than pleased. COME ON BARRELS!!

Incidentally, Jim is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable Savage Rifle people that I have done business with since I got the switch barrel bug. I will be doing a lot more business with Jim.
