Criterion Barrel

Well, after a 10+ week wait, I received a call today from Northland Shooters Supply that they finally have my new barrel in from Criterion and are ready to ship it to me. This is my first CBI Savage prefit and am pretty excited to get the old one off and this new barrel screwed on. Going on a M12 LRPV that started life as a 204R.
New barrel is in 223R, 1 in 9 twist, 26" long. I'm really hoping it will be a shooter. Has anyone here used Criterion barrels? If so were you satisfied with the accuracy they produced for you?

30" 6BR , shoots in the .3moa at 200-600 yards.

7mm Remington magnum, .5 moa... has 1300 rounds and no firecracking and minimal throat erosion.

6.5-284, 750 rounds. Seems to like 140gr and RL23.

All on Savage actions. They seem to last a loooong time.

308 for a savage M10 & a 260 for a Rem 700.
308 was my nephews, cut his groups in 1/2.
260 is mine. Solid shooter in the .3's with 140 HPBT Hornady's, H 4350 and Lapua brass.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
Al

UPDATE:
So, got a chance to visit with the nephew last night at a wedding dance. He's still in love with the 308. Last time he was out he went 7 for 10 @ 1011 yds with 175 Matchkings. Misses were due to errors in wind calls. Yup, he still loves his too!

About a year ago I bought a used target rifle built on a Savage "target" action in 243 Win with a Criterion 1:8 "Bull" taper in a McRee chassis. Firsts all the way around for me, first Savage, first Criterion (always Obermeyer and Krieger before), first chassis. I am extremely pleased with the Criterion barrel, plenty accurate for 600 yd. F-class (at the level I shoot anyway) and it cleans super easy.

I'm on my 3rd CBI, two military replacements (1917 and 1903) and one remage in 260AI. All are shooters. Would not hesitate to buy another.

Mine was a .223 in 1:8. Shot very well with Hornady 80 gr Amax. When hornady changed to ELD's Not so much.
I just started shooting 69 Serria and 68 Hornady. Problem solved, at least to 600 yards anyhow.

i have one in 6.5x47, 26" on a Savage action. I have been very happy with mine. I plan to get one in 7mm RM as well. When this one is shot out, my next will be another CBI.

I always have to chuckle when someone posts AFTER purchasing something for a review. Please don't think that I am picking on you Paddyd , because I am not!! Heck, your post count is 223....how much of a good omen do you need? LOL

Started as part of Krieger, as a cheaper alternative to their cut rifling barrels.
Can't speak to the quality of their chambering on a prefit, but the barrels themselves are on par with others in that price range (Shilen, McGowen, Douglas and others).

I have a Criterion 24" barrel in my DPMS LR308. It is all I could ask for in accuracy. Fired brass needs almost no sizing, (I actually think I could get away with just neck sizing) 500 yard groups run below 3". Buy from them with confidence.
