Criterion, Barrel Blanks

I would like to see Criterion offer just plane barrel blanks along with its prechambered barrels they supply. With a slight reduction in price from the prechambered barrels I bet they would sell a truck load of them.

Maybe some day Ill see that happen.

I just got off the phone with Jim Briggs about two Criterion barrels. One, a large shank 284 Win Barrel and the other a 30 cal, 1 in 11 blank to finish at 30", no chamber, no crown, just profiled. The 284 barrel is $320 and the 30 cal blank is $285.00. He stated that at the first of the year, both barrels would increase in price $20.00. The lead time for the two barrels mentioned above, as long as I order by the end of Dec., is 10-12 weeks. He said that would double the first of the year.

Hmmm? they dont advertise on there web page about Contoured blanks. Do you have to be a dealer to get one?
Sorry for the ignorance but who is Jim Briggs? does he work for Criterion?

No you don't have to be a dealer. Jim is the distributor for Criterion barrels. Like johnbearman stated above, call him directly and he can most likely get what you're looking for as long as they carry it.
