Crimp or Not to Crimp is the ?

I am trying to make a decision on die for the 6mm BR Rem. "no turn neck." What are best dies and should I go with build in crimping ring or no crimp? What is the out come of both with or with out a crimp. Thanks

Since no one else has replied.

Mark, most of my shoot is competition and I do not crimp anything. With the exception of pistol bullets. I don't even crimp my hunting bullets.
For best dies, this is what I use, custom is best, then Redding, then Hornady. Hornady and RCBS about the same as are others.

Like Neil, I don't crimp any rifle reloads. The majority of 6BR shooters would likely be the same.

Since you said you were going for a no turn neck, you probably want to retain the option of using an expander ball to ensure identical internal neck dimensions after resizing.

I'd recommend Redding type S bushing dies. Use the expander choose the bushing size that gives minimal neck compression and retain the expander ball. Sure, you can get away with just the bushing and no expander, especially with consistent brass like Lapua but I prefer to use the expander unless I'm turning necks. If you elect to neck turn down the track, you can switch to a smaller bushing and drop the expander ball without having to outlay for another set of dies.

Choose any seater you like. I prefer micrometer tops for seating depth adjustment because I shoot a variety of bullets and it makes for more convenience. If you are only ever going to shoot the same bullet, this extra is not really needed. Redding is my pick once again.

Have fun!

Not many rifle shooters crimp, it's only necessary for semi-auto's, and even then not all of the time. If you're using a bolt rifle then do not crimp.

Pistol cases headspace off of the end of the case, so you do NOT want to crimp pistol ammo, this can even be dangerous). Crimp only on revolver ammo such as 357Mag and 44Mag which headspace off of the base/rim.
