CREEDMOOR?

Is there any real difference between the 6.5 CM and a 6.5x47 (other than the obvious)? I'm considering a rifle for 600-yds benchrest. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

They're both great cartridges, designed from the get go as quality target cartridges that function correctly from short action rifles and magazines. The Creedmoor has slightly more capacity. Both have good quality brass available. The Creedmoor has the advantage of affordable target grade factory ammunition. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I just had my second Creedmoor built and the gun is a tack driver. Easy to reload and find accurate loads for. Both the Lapua and Creedmoor were designed correctly and hence shoot well, similar to the 6 BR and PPC. They just shoot everything well. Good luck with your new rifle.

Set the new rifle up as a switch barrel and you can try both calibers. There is really nothing to screwing on a new barrel cept $.

The rifle I just built has a Shilen barrel on it and I just found a load that shoots in the 1s at 100 on a regular basis. Both the barrels your interested in are great, you won't go wrong with either. As to concerns with brass the Hornady brass I've been using is great stuff. Nosler is going to start making brass for it this year and I think Norma is making the Nosler brass now.
