Craftsmen, engineers, toys and space travel. Time to lighten up

LOL, did some work on a luxury yacht where the owner insisted the propeller shafts vibrated. Many tens of thousands of dollars later, a specialty inspection lab issued their report that the props and shafts were identical, true and perfectly balanced.
I would have loved to see the equipment they used to test this.
Having spent close to 60 hours in the engine room during sea trials, I'd have speculated the gear boxes, considering the harmonics I've experienced out of reducers many times.
I have had experience with several new vessel that upon sea trials, they discovered a unusual vibration.
In the vast majority of cases, it is cavitation.

Same thing happens on very high perf outboards. Ive seen it so bad it turns spots on a mirror finish prop blue and sets off knock sensors
