You should be good to go then as long as you talked to an agent. They get a lot of hate from some people but you are right, they are very helpful. My friend that is an agent had me read the book when I got my first thermal because I was under the impression that rule didn't apply to landowners or their authorized representatives. My friend is also how I got my written letter of authorization. With the amount of coyotes in Missouri I'm surprised they don't allow them year round. We can take several out of an area and it seems like the number of them keep going up. Thank you for helping to manage them and hope you get a lot more of them this year. It's addicting.

Night Vision and Thermal Imagery
You may not possess night vision or thermal imagery equipment while carrying a firearm, bow, or other implement used to take wildlife, except:- To take coyotes from February 1 – March 31 in conjunction with other legal hunting methods
- For the purposes of killing feral swine by landowners or their authorized representatives on the landowner’s property
- With written authorization of an agent of the department
