I am not a coyote hunter but. I have used hog calls off apple store and they work well. $120.00 JBL speaker from Walmart. Cheap and works. What's the best hand howler? Always used a fox pro call but looking for a nice hand held howler. So many to choose from and i can't make my mind up.
That's awesome!I made my own out of a cow horn and am making one out of a buffalo horn soon
Man I appreciate it!I always liked and had success with the Song Dog by Major Boddicker. You can use it for lots of sounds I especially like to make the puppy whines with it. Not really a howler per say but it works well if coyotes are anywhere within ear shot. Hopefully they are still available. The Weems Wildcall is another that has been reproduced and works well. Rare Earth calls by Robert Patrick in Michigan are very nice and his howler works very well.

+1^^ I have one of those that has worked well a few times as well. The Sceery open read call has been my longtime favorite for howling. You can do howls, crow calls, rabbit sounds, pup in distress, and a few others, all with the same call. A deadly combination over the years for me.

Yes,that's the one. I also carry the semi-open call as well. It is a deadly combination of calls, especially late in the season when only the very smartest are still alive! Good luck! This one?
