Coyote food / bait

Order of attraction Deer, beaver, muskrat carcasses(freeze in 5 gallon buckets,rat-cicle) cow,hog the last 2 you need to open the hide on the ribs or rear ham in freezing weather to get coyote to start on them quicker. I would like to make a rabbit cicle sometime, but don't know any volume rabbit hunters. I have had a whole adult deer 140-160# only last 3 nights,.

You are right on in the order of coyote cuisine. One thing they will not eat is otter. I used to have a training enclosure. Fed a lot of dog food but also I trapped hard a few years and had access to carcasses from a place that put up fur for now defunct NAFA. Coyotes will not touch raccoon carcasses much either.

I work on an exotic ranch here in Texas. Around here when dogs get bad, it is said that the sponges soaked in bacon grease work really well. It is preferred as not putting out any poisonous materials around expensive and rare animals is needed. Will get coons and foxes too.

My dad worked summers in the N. Idaho woods after WW II while attending college. There was once a problem black bear hanging around a work camp's garbage dump. Some old timer took a wooden bucket and drove three or four big nails into it at intervals around it's circumference, baited it, and set it out. The bear stuck it's head into the bucket, then the nails grabbed and held it in place when he tried to back out. Paniced, the bear charged blindly straight into a large pine tree, head first. The bucket exploded into segments and the bear dropped dead then and there.

I just put out some white tailed deer meat scraps in the three small holes where I hunt. I assume this where coyotes dug up (rodents?) I added some Cavens coyote bait (stink I mean stink) to each hole and dropped in the meat. It’s supposed to rain this evening otherwise I would be in the tripod stand. Maybe I’ll repeat the bait and hunt tomorrow evening.

their favorite is horse, beaver, muskrat, but they will eat about anything meat Cows, deer, I wouldn't put out a coyote you shot they don't seem to want to eat them.
