!coyote down

shot my furthest dog this morning, twice!

i went out this morning by some feilds i know got some pictures of some elk and turkey's, went down the road a mile or so and seen a dog way out there, about 850 yards out there. i looked at my data and watched him, he started to come closer to a fence in between us and then walked a long it at 700 or so yards. i layed down took a shot hit im back, he yelped and then ran about 50 yards, i then shot again and dropped him. i went out to check him out and the shot was about 725 yards. thats my personal best so far. befor this one it was by holding over at 546 this winter.

I shot it the secong time rite in or just behind the shoulder, he never moved. I don't know if the 6mm 95 grainer stopped at that far out of my 243ackley its got 730 ish ft/lbs still.

Good shooting. Sounds like you didn't go for a photo.

Nope, you don't need a Photobucket account. Just use Imageshack:http://imageshack.us/

I believe imageshack removes geo-tagging and other exif data as well.

You don't need any external site to post your picture here. The hardest part is making sure your picture is no too large to post. Follow this link for instructions.

It's kinda annoying when people attach photos and you have to enlarge each one by clicking on it. Pictures are better than no pictures, though. YMMV

here are the pics

notice the care on the road

i shot from the middle of the road (it is a back country road dont worry) so where i ranged to and where i shot was about 20-25 yards difference

Yes but then if a post thread has a bunch of quotes with pictures and they are all full size, it takes time to load the pages on slower connection speeds. I like the smaller ones and being able to choose the ones to enlarge to get faster page loads. Also remember that nowadays, most data plans are limited and cost more when you go over your limit. On an active thread that I follow, if a large picture is on the first page, I may open that thread to read it 50 times and get that same large picture I have already seem each time using data unnecessarily. Each has it's trade offs.

Nice photos, thanks for taking the time to upload. Looks like a big open meadow provided you this opportunity for a long shot.

Leave it to me to forget about mobile users; I don't even have a smartphone or cellphone for that matter. I got a taste of the crappy 4g internet last fall during hunting season, it goes quick. There's probably an app to block photos like NoScript for Firefox Moblile for example, so you don't use up your precious per month allotments. I guess we have to do what makes everyone happy.

wow...phenomenal shooting! To make a shot at 725 yards you must have used your range finder prior to the shot. I guess if you made the shot from the road you had a good line of sight on him. What did you do with the kill? Nice fur on him, looks like he would make a beautiful rug.

Lawrence
The fur wasn't that good in person the bald eagles will get him soon
