Ive used a .22-250 shooting a 52 gr hp for years. Plenty of dead coyotes. No runners. DRT. Usually no exit hole, very fur friendly. Fast, flat, accurate, simple.
Have a bunch of 75 gr Vmaxes loaded up with 4064. Have only shot a ground hog so far with them but they shoot well and bet they will pound a yote hard.
Right now the rifle I probably grab the most is a Tikka 22-250 with the barrel cut to 20" and suppressed. For bullets, I prefer the Sierra 55 SBT's. Next might be my 6x45, with 58gr VMaxs. suppressed also
Sometimes depending on cover and calling location, my favorite coyote calling rifle is my Browning A5 auto loading shotgun. I carry a lightweight pump shotgun at times with a bolt gun for coyotes if i'm near heavy cover. Sometimes them dogs hold up in thick cover and think they are unseen. I've killed several this way with heavy shot at 50 yards in thick edge cover. I've killed a few during spring turkey hunts calling birds while they are stalking my decoys. Thick cover wouldn't allow for any rifle shot many times. On power lines or clear-cuts, it's either my 22-250 AI, 243 or 6.5-284. All with the right bullet are very good long range coyote guns.
