Couch Potato

Living up here in Erie Pa. about 3 mile miles from the shoreline of
Lake Erie, We are blessed with 3 AFC teams close by. Cleveland
just to the west, Buffalo, just to the East, and Pittsburgh to the south.
I missed my Bills game, being at a rifle match. Did wear my Bills hat
though. Brought me luck.....They won. So yesterday and still getting
the chill out of my bones from the match, I planted my ass on the
couch and watch the games all day. Something about throwing a
blanket over ya', kicking back, and unplugging the phone !! Having a
few Erie brewed "Rail Benders", a pile of Cajun Wings, and a few
snoozes in between.......Well it is what it is. For you Steelers fans,
you must be in shock. Cleveland does you in, 2 games in a row,
and has yinz cleaning out your lockers.......Next week I may just
repeat this couch potato process......What say you ??

I WAS a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for over 40 years, but no more. When the NFL teams thought it was a good idea to denounce the country by "taking a knee" during the National Anthem, and the higherarchy of the NFL stood with those denouncing the country, I quit watching all pro football. College football was my choseen sports venue after that. I was a University of Michigan fan for again 40+ years, but they have sucked so bad for so long I was going to my second favorite team, Alabama Crimson Tide. Then I saw Nick Saban leading a BLM march, and that same weekend several of the college teams were pictured "taking a knee" also. Baseball and basketball are both slathered with anti-American propaganda of some sort or another So sports from a college level up through ALL professional venues are no longer something I will watch or spend any of my money on.

If all professional sports teams will come out on their respective fields and sing “My country tiss of Thee” and kiss the hallowed ground that they walk on I might come back to watch them, until then they can take the ball, puck or whatever it is that they make their ridiculous income from and try fitting it into somewhere that it probably won’t.

Former hardcore Packer fan, gong back to Lombardi and Starr. Endured a long drought during the 70's and 80's, but kept the faith. Paul Horning died recently, he was my all time favorite Packer. Today NFL and players like Aaron Rodgers just leave me cold. Add to that an administration of non Green Bay people and the best I can do is turn on the radio briefly to catch the score. Sunday afternoons when home are now spent watching Mid Summer Murders with my wife. My blood pressure is now lower.

While I certainly agree with shutting out the pro sports and the associated socialist political agenda I think that other than lowering my blood pressure nothing will change. The powers that be in this country have bought into the "change". The news media, politicians, corporations and everyone else. Sadly I can't see this wave of propaganda slowing down. The only hope I can see would be a unified large scale opposition movement. I just don't see that happening.

Cracks me up when the NFL reports that their numbers are down due to the chinese flu keeping fans out of the stadiums but they don't address the plummeting TV ratings.

Sounds like a relaxing and good time, been chuckling all morning at Pittsburgh’s total unraveling.

my panthers are thoroughly terrible, so I don’t have a dog in the fight this year.
