correct bullet weight needed

I'm looking at buying a 6.5 x 284 repeater on Montana 1999 action.
The barrel is 1 in 9.5"

I can't find an indication as to what bullet weight would be a starting point for this twist.
I've only seen 8 & 8.5 twist.

Advice please

My advice would be to look for one with an 8 twist. You could then use up to the 140s and maybe heavier. On another note, if it's a used barrel, advise a borescope inspection before purchase.

Thanks A Million.
I'd prefer heavier bullets, it is a new barrel.
So a new barrel may be in order.

If you gotta replace the barrel right away it isn't worth paying for. Just my .02

Respectfully,

Bronco
