Cooper Firearms New Target Rifle

Cooper Firearms of Montana has a new target rifle coming out with a new stock and heavy barrel. I'm talking about the one shown below in the Bumble Bee colored stock.

They haven't settled on a name for the rifle yet, but it's available right now. You can contact your local dealer if interested and get one on order. Ask for the new TRP style laminate stock rifle with the heavy barrel. I asked about a model 22 action in a 6mm br today and was told they are accepting orders at this time. I don't have any spec's on the barrel size or other calibers but Cooper usually offers a wide variety of options.

Price is $1895.00

I prefer they kept a focus on accurate hunting guns.
Makes no sense for them to go toward impractical.

Lots of people are interested in a target version of the great Cooper rifles. One of my friends is waiting for March delivery on his 6 PPC in this set-up. Here is a quote from an email exchange between Mike Hudgins and myself a couple months ago ...

Our TRP-3 stock, with it's dual-recoil plane setup, would allow you to shoot free recoil. I can build something for you in either the M21 or M22 in a wood stocked TRP-3, with your choice of wood grade. Also, we can discuss what sort of barrel diameter you'd want. Right now, we have three contours that would work, depending on your weight restrictions. My personal favorite is our 1.155 diameter barrel, which is the same diameter of the M21 receiver. As I said before, your weight restrictions might now allow for that barrel, but it sure does look good and functionally it is incredibly sound. We also offer a 1" to .775 (.750 @ 26"), and a 1.10 to .825 (.800 @ 26"). There are options, we just need to know what direction you want to go.
