Cooper Arms 1989-2009

I'm glad I could help. I've had a few Coopers, fine rifles that shot very well. Lots of pride in ownership and bragging rights. I was lucky to meet Dan Cooper, when they were in the "old" building in Stevensville. They like Dakota should have been a very successful company, except shooters are notoriously parsimonious.
Heres that Mod 38 Calhoon. I bought a few from Dan over those years. I was lucky enough to have gotten in on the little run of 221 Fireballs in the Model 38 also.

Top one is the 221 Fireball and the bottom is in 223

Beautiful Rifles. I have a 22 Hornet Model 38 with a French Walnut upgrade. It is pretty figured, I say it looks like some kind of marbled cake my mom might have made. The wood is not as insanely good as your 38, but it might be a bit better than that 21, and that one is no slouch wood wise.

Thank you, Lovely stuff certainly did come out from Cooper in those years, I always wanted to do the French Walnut but I had fears of it getting dinged over just looking at it.

Is French Walnut softer? I bought one that was used and it had some small dings.

Some might not agree, but I think that the very best rifles they were making was in the time period where they had the small, angular bolt release. I have that on my 38, but I am not sure if that was model 38 only.

When did Cooper change from the early off set trigger mounting screws system to the inline screws mounting system ?

Shooters, I see a lot of questions regarding Cooper history of design etc including historical information. I am here to answer your questions if you are interested. I can help as much as I can from a historical and design standpoint. My knowledge is yours to tap. sincerely, Founder, Daniel Cooper
Whose barrels did you use from beginning to end in 2009?
