Coolant thru muzzle flush system

What spin on oil filter are you guys using? Standard oil filters such as on your Ford or Chevy have a average 21 micron filtering capacity. I could only find one hydraulic oil filter that had a 10 micron capacity. I think most guys were saying 5 micron was needed? Can anyone give me a actual filter number for a spin on, 5 micron, filter with a 3/4 inch center stud?

If you care, there is a link on the first page that I posted. It has the MSC #'s for a filter housing and 5 micron filter that I am using. Good luck

I saw your post with all the great photos and I used quite a bit of your information. I have a spin on mount from a previous auto project that I intended to use with a standard spin on oil filter that has a 3/4 inch center stud. I have seen some photos that guys have used that type, just can't locate that type with a 5 micron filter pore size.
Thanks for the response and those great photos and details!

Thanks Doc.

So I had to refresh my memory here. The Shurflo pump I run will do 4.25 GPM, the 5 micron filter I am using will do 7 GPM in a water type environment, I'm running vipers venom,

So I did some searching and came up with a spin on filter for a Ford 6.7 L, it's a Wix #57151 or Napa #7151 the only draw back might be the 1-16 TPI vs a 3/4-16 TPI which I hunk I common in gas motors. There is one other option which is for a motorcycle, a Wix 57148 and it has a 3/4-16 TPI but is a much smaller filter of corse. I provided links for both.

Some product info on the Wix 57151 - $17.42 @ Rock Auto but a 1-16 TPI

Some product info on the Wix 57148 - $6.27 @ Rock Auto

There are many diesel fuel filters below 5 microns and they can be had in many different sizes. You can get external filter housings from Cummins among other places too.

Thanks for the detailed response! The motorcycle filter may be too small even for the mount. I have looked at oil filters pretty well as well as hydraulic filters but have not thought of fuel filters. I will research those next and see what come up. Dusty may be right and just give up on using the mount that I have an go with the information on what you used. Thanks again to all!!

I just got my flush system setup last night, I went super cheap on it and didnt spend alot of money. The pump only puts out 45psi but its a pretty good flow through the barrel.

The pump is from harbor frieght so i dont think it will last too long but worth a try. What do you guys think?
