Cool new case dryer

I like the timer. I just use a cheap dehydrator. But would love to not have to watch it.
Go buy a timer that plugs into the wall and plug the dryer into the timer. They make them for turning your lights on and off when you are not home. They also make newer ones you can set and control by your phone.

I personally believe my solution for brass drying far surpasses any of the previously mentioned ideas. The real, and guaranteed 100% foolproof, method to dry your brass, is to prevent it from ever getting WET in the first place. There is no award, that I’m aware of, for having the shiniest brass on the line. Lol. Good luck with washing and drying your brass, I’ll be enjoying a nice whiskey.

Look at the trays, looks like cases would slip through.
I am happy with the oven method, so I won't be buying one. However, if I were to go this route and had a problem with the cases slipping through I would just cut some window screen and glue it to the trays with some spray adhesive

You don't think Lyman really makes the dryer the OP linked do you ? They are just direct buying a Chinese food dryer like the ones sold all over Ebay and Amazon, putting their name on it and marking it up 100%

Hit up some yard sales and you could probably find one for $5 - $10

Thanks for the heads up, but I've gotta say that my oven works pretty durned good for this task.

I'm getting to the point where real estate in my reloading room is getting pretty valuable. It's starting to over-flow into the kitchen now. I may as well stick with the oven. jd
That is a real problem for a lot of us. When I bought my current house, I added on a workshop to fit everything I owned and a bit more. Should have made the sucker twice as big. The good thing is - it keeps me from making impulse buys as my first thought is "where am I going to put it?".

I bought a square one years ago and saw a round one at the neighbors yard sale. So now I have both, they both work about the same.

I am the guy who has to fix everything around the house. I have the two fastest and cheapest way to dry my cases. One is lay them on a towel on a flat surface and turn on a box fan on high and point it right at the case. And the all time best way is to go into my garage after i sonic clean the cases which i see as the best idea very fast and simple and comes out looking good. Then into the garage with say 100 cases and in a matter of no time holding a hand full of cases all pointing the same direction in my fist i hit them all back and forth a few times with 100 LBS. of pressure then flip them around and do the primer ends and presto their done and ready for primers. Cost nothing and I always have an air compressor in my garage to use for blowing air on work projects. No dryer in the word can get them dry as fast an air compressor can. I bought one of those new air compressor at Lowes that is so quiet you will be amazed how little noise it makes. In the winter i keep it in my basement loading area and my wife can be sleeping upstairs and turn it on and not wake her... I,ve tried everything and this is super fast and cost me nothing because i always have a compressor in the shop.

Pretty old thread, but I am in this camp. I tumble mine just enough to get the carbon off, size, tumble again and then load them. Not always the prettiest, but they shoot well enough for me.

I also have gotten out of the habit of using high $$ brass in my hunting rigs. I have Lapua, ADG, and Peterson for bench work, but unless it is one of my truly unique rifles, they get fed Remington, Winchester, and Hornady when they are in the field. A .3" difference in group size doesn't matter much to me when hunting. Heck, based on some of the contortions I have to perform to get a shot off sometimes, I am lucky if I can hold 3MOA. I want to spend my time after the shot looking for dead animals, not digging around in the grass/stickers for a $3 piece of brass.

I've been using that Lyman for more than two years now. I also dry the SS pins in it, went to a hobby shop got some nylon screening cut it to the size of one of the shelves, works great.

I agree and I’ve been doing it this way for years. I Ultra sonic clean the cases after depriming and sizing. The cleaner removes all the sizing lube and cleans the cases pretty well. And drying them with the air hose is quick and easy. Not to mention if the cleaner doesn’t get the primer pockets clean enough, the high pressure air usually gets the rest and makes them about clean as new.

If I'm not in a hurray - I lay the cases out in the sun.
If I'm in a hurray - I put them in the toaster oven for 15 min.

Easy Peasy
