Converting XP100r to Centergrip questions

If I wanted to convert a xp100 repeater to a single shot center grip would it require any modifications to the action? I have a center grip trigger I could drop in. Would it require any modifications to the repeater action other than not having more than 1 shot at a time?

Other than blocking the hole you should be GTG...

A XP100 recoil lug would also be helpful.

Be aware of the fact the XP-100R has a rear tang like a Rem 700. The standard XP-100 has a shortened tang with no rear screw in the tang. Therefor if you have a standard center grip stock inletted for a XP then the screw spacing is not the same. I can send pictures if you want.

I think the hole spacing of the front action screw is different location also. Would be a problem on the centergrip stock

Attached is a picture of a XP-100 (left) next to a XP-100R. You can clearly see the difference in the tang. This changes the screw hole spacing of the two actions. The normal stock for a XP-100 center grip will not accommodate the longer repeater tang without some modifications to the inletting. I know it can and has been done just be aware of the differences. I have seen custom center grip stocks with a repeater action setting in them and they work great.

I know I have not answered your question pertaining to the center grip trigger assembly. I will take one of my XP's apart tomorrow and see if it fits the Repeater action. I assume it will as Preacher suggests. I have made purchasing mistakes on XP parts assuming they were the same action and found out otherwise. I fixed that issue by acquiring the XP-100R pictured I now have four XP's and love them all. Have fun and keep the scope off your forehead ;D
