Convert extract only action to ejector action

I have 1,000 yard bench gun set up on a Kelbly Panda action in a right bolt, left port, non-eject configuration. It has a magnum bolt-face(300 WSM) so it is not coned. I would like to have it converted to a right bolt, left load, right eject without having to buy a new bolt if that is possible. I'm not sure if it is because of the current extractor cut. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith who has experience doing this type of work on custom actions?

the extractor being on the wrong side is why you need a new bolt is my guess

You can make it eject out the current port

Yeah, I know that but I seem to like to make things difficult...and expensive. This would require the bolt modification and the additional port. Not sure if the current extractor could just be "disabled" though.

A bolt body can't be that much $.

I tried them today but they must have closed early. I know an entire bolt is $700. I'm not sure if they offer the body only.

Its gonna take a new bolt. This is the point where a lot of folks sell their action and get what they need. Itll cost a bunch of money to fix your bolt and cut a port. Theres only a handfull of folks that could pull it off and less that will- that equates to normal good gunsmith wait time of 6mo minimum to do that. You never did say which extractor it had in it now? Those panda bolt noses are hard as woodpecker lips too

Why not add a plunger ejector and have them flop out same load port?

Makes much more sense to eject out of the existing port, especially with such a large case. Just my .02.

Dasher is set up as right bolt, left load, right eject. Just trying to keep things consistent moving forward.

I'll call Jim next week about a bolt body...unless somebody out there happens to have a right eject Panda bolt with a magnum bolt face they want to part with!

Cutting the right port is no problem, but you need a new bolt to do it right.

I called Kelbly’s. A new bolt has been ordered. I’ll probably post my current right hand, left extract, magnum bolt for sale in the classifieds. Thanks for your help guys.
