Convert 20 Practical cases back to .223?

Have an AR-15 that until recently I never bothered reloading for. My wife likes to shoot the gun, pretty informal stuff so cheap bulk ammo or whatever we could find locally was more than adequate. But now that that's become impossible to find I'm looking to get some components together, but can't find brass anywhere either.

I do have some Win 223 cases that were necked down for a 20 Practical, any reason I couldn't just size the necks back up, run them through a full length sizer die and go from there?

What would be a good die to use for this, have never necked up before, always went the other way.

Thanks, Matt.

Yeah, you could probably do that. I would suggest that you anneal them before and possibly even after the conversion. I have taken 30BR brass and put it back to 6BR just to see if I could do it. It's more work than is worthwhile, but it's doable.
