Contacts

Do any of you guys shoot wearing contact lenses? I currently shoot using prescription glasses but find they are a PITA. I haven't tried contacts yet as my prescription has changed and I haven't gotten around to getting new ones. I don't want to waste money for nothing.

Cheers

Stewie.

I just found an old set of prescription sports glasses that I got back in the early 90's. Surprisingly I can still see out of them for distance vision. The main advantage is that they sit real high on my face which helps my head position behind the scope. If I need to do any fine work I can just take them off as I am nearsighted whereas with contacts I need glasses to see close up.

I've been using contacts for years. The only problems I've encountered is when it is very hot and dry. If you spend a lot of time looking though a scope and don't blink often enough the lenses can dry out--but that's really a rare experience.

The other problem is that, if you have astigmatism, it's hard to correct for that with contacts. I've found the astigmatism causes some issues with iron sights, but has never been an issue shooting a scoped rifle.
