trying to get SHOOTERS (the cheapest humans on the planet) to PAY for something that is FREE !!! good luck. this ''dog'' bites CHEAP people, over and over, but they feel nothing ! GRRRR

I visited this site for quite some time before I realized it was a donation supported site, trying to give some benefit of doubt but am sure you are correct in your assessment for more than a few.

We are not exclusively a donation-supported site. We do get ad revenues, and we get some affiliate revenues (which go directly for IT support and hosting costs). It think it is fair to say however, that when we need to do major development work (such as hosting upgrades, or webpage redesign), we look to user donations to cover those costs. I try to allocate donation revenues to costs that directly support user services (hosting, back-ups, digital storage, hardware costs).

I feel that there is no "Free Lunch" and one should support this valuable resource. I donate once a year to this site and a number of other sites. I also make every purchase from Amazon through this site, and I conservatively make over a hundred Amazon transactions yearly. I am wondering what the actual benefit to Accurate Shooter is, from Amazon?

Gary, I'm not allowed to state the exact terms of our affiliate relationship with Amazon, but on most items the commission is quite fair, and better than offered by most affiliate networks.

In the past couple of year,s we have generated $300-$450 per month from Amazon commissions. Every penny of that revenue goes to IT support and hosting costs. I think that we could likely quadruple this revenue if more members would use our Amazon link before shopping. I hope this thread reminds people that the Amazon commissions really do help -- and this costs a Forum member nothing out of pocket (other than what you pay for purchased items, which is the same as every other Amazon customer.)
