Well, at least 12 of the last 20 coyotes I shot with the 75Amaxs from my .22-243AI have either been floppers, spinners, or runners. Seems like the more recent AMP jacketed 75Amaxs don't perform like the old 75Amax did? When I first built my old .22-243, it was swift death with the original 75s. And when I built my .22-243AI a couple years ago, I was still loading with my old stock of 75Amaxs. Man, they friggin' paralyzed a coyote!
However, these last two batches of ammo are loaded with the AMP jacketed 75s, and they just aren't working as well? Making good solid hits, just not getting the immediate "face in the dirt" performance that the old 75Amaxs allowed...
Anyway, I've seen enough. My partner who shoots a straight .22-243 switched to a 75VLD, and he's thumping them into the dirt. And some other friends have been using the 80Amaxs all along in their AIs. Imma try them both, and hopefully get back to what I'm used to. Maybe even try those new Nosler 70 RDFs?
