Congratulations to Jay Christopherson

Thanks Richard. Once again a bridesmaid, but @Bob Sebold and @Keith Glasscock earned their 1/2 spots for sure. So many tough competitors that even being mentioned about in the same breath is pretty awesome.

EDIT: I have two things I would like to call out - Christine Harris's 199 at 600 on relay 2 (first match) at mid-range was unreal, followed closely by Jim Murphy at 197. I dropped *12* that relay, bookending 9's, along with a whole LOT of others. She saw something and she won that match right then and there.

Bob Sebold made the *best* wind call I have ever seen during the 1000 yard match and I was the lucky shooter/recipient. We held the 20th shot on my string for *37* minutes! And he came back with a '10' after adding 2 minutes to my scope and holding 5 lines. To compare, the last call 37 minutes earlier was 3 lines with no wind on the scope. It was truly amazing.

These are stories I love to hear (and great job Jay)! Drew

This was my first trip to the Berger's. The wind was absolutely insane on Wednesday at the 600 yard match! When was the last time you saw 5s, 6s, and 7s at 600 yards? They were there aplenty! Then the wind for Team and Individuals was better BUT very tricky! Up, down, switching>>>with my wind reading ability at 1000, I landed about where I do in such conditions. But those people Christine Harris at 600 and the TOP 15 people at 1000 did an AWESOME job! My hat is off to all of them! Bob, Keith, Jay et al >>>all I can say is FABULOUS shooting! A job VERY well done!

Congratulations Jay, very well done. I have been fortunate enough to shoot with Jay at Machias during my first season and he has shared a lot of knowledge that I appreciate and respect.
Watching you along with Tod at Machias has been an inspiration for me.
Again, Congratulations and thank you.

Jay,
A Bridesmaid is pretty good, the Maid of Honor is outstanding.
Congratulations,

Team Lapua-Brux-Borden — Winning “Team First” Philosophy
Commentary by Jay Christopherson
For Team Lapua-Borden-Brux, winning gold is the entire focus. To that end, ego is the only enemy. Sure, we all have egos as individual shooters, but as a team, ego is subsumed into that one overriding goal. If you can’t do that, then you can’t shoot on Lapua-Borden-Brux. No matter how good you think your rifle is or how well you are shooting individually, the coach is the only arbiter — no exceptions. Every job on the team is focused towards that single goal of gold and no job is more or less important than another. Our plotter saves points by spotting high or low trends and calling that out, and ensuring we don’t lose points when a scorer misses a shot. Our back-coach saves points by spotting upcoming condition changes or making observations. Our target-puller strives to provide an example of the best possible target service. And our scorer focuses on providing attentive service to the team next to us. A failure in one job is a failure in all and we either win or lose together as a team. That is only possible when each individual understands that there is only one goal.

That's about as good a write-up about teamwork that I've ever read. Will be using this as a parenting tool.
