Coned or flat bolt face

School me on the pros and cons of a coned bolt face. I am about to order a new Kelbly action and its an option I have never had to deal with.

I have both on my competition rifles, which are all single-shot designs. I see no difference in accuracy whatsoever. However, ALL my hunting rifles, which are repeaters, all have flat bolt-face, read that "push-feed" designs. It MIGHT (I don't know) have something to do with feeding from a magazine. That's about all I can think of..

The trend has been; coned for single-shot, smoother <> flat for repeater, push-feed
But I have used coned repeaters, and find them to be smoother, work fine, and like them better.

Huge difference in smooth feeding (single shot) between my 722 (flat) and my Hart (coned). The hart never hangs up...the 222 hangs up every time, requiring a fanciful and well oiled finger flip to get it to go.

If you look at the picture and see the cone in the barrel, it is like a funnel. I can't see how a coned bolt would not feed better. Matt
