Complete custom rifles by Shilen

Question was brought up about custom rifle builders. Somebody said Shilen didn't do them. That is not true.

I believe the Feb. 2014 Outdoor Life issue has a story written by John Snow about his Shilen hunting rifle.

The Shilen is a specfic product for those who what certain features.

For my target and hunting rifles I use others.

For instance my Kimber 84M's and 8400's have C.R.F., three position M70 type wing safeties, and weigh less.

These things are more important to me.

Here is how my Kimber 308 shot at 200 yds. It proved that it stays sighted in for that first shot.

I guess I'm out of town. What does control round feed do for you?

CRF is "good machinery" to me. It's like turning the handles on a Bridgeport. Something about it makes the rifle better.

One could double feed easier with a push feed bolt action rifle.

So you like it and that is OK. What does it do for North American hunters? I have 2 Bridgeports and like them. They ain't the best though.

Its so that his rifle wont fail to load a round when those vicious maneating whitetail deer start charging his tree stand ;D

I had found a new place to hunt that looked great. It was a farm that I saw deer on in the summer.

After they cut the hay a row of bales were put at the top of a large area with a great view. I planned to be there in MY spot at dawn's early light.

When I got there somebody was in my spot. As I walked towards him he got up and started to leave. As he walked past I asked why he was leaving. He said:
"My rifle is jammed."

It was a 760 pump.

I have a Stevens Favorite. It has always failed to feed the next round.
