comparison between two Nightforce scopes ?

I own a few of both. The Comps sit on my rifles and the BRs are still on hand if needed as a backup scope

Comp: 28OZ, 55MOA adjustment, 3.2" eye relief, excellent glass

BR: 36OZ, 40MOA adjustment, 3" eye relief, good glass

As said above, the front parallax adjustment really isn't that much of a problem when shooting at the same or a couple yardages during the day.

Hopefully it will always will be rock solid but shoot box test now and then. I had one that went south in the middle of a 1K match. Took it to 100 and shot a box test and it was a disaster. It happens.. I verified that gun was fine with my trusty old 12x42NSX. Then re mounted the Comp to check it again with same problem. NF of course “couldn’t find any problem with it”. They act your crazy even when tell them you verified the problem with another one their own scopes, and took the problem scope off and re mounted it to again re verify it.. The NF rep then told me my torque wrench had to be bad! Yes he really said that. I love the Comp glass and have owned a few and still have one, but after that last jerk me around comment I will never buy another NF Comp. The offending Comp was replaced with a Kahles. My best shooting bud just had a similar problem with one of his Comp’s and it got replaced by a March.
Rant over..
did they fix it?- im always thinking when shooting mine " was that the scope"

I was so pissed off the Comp has been sitting on the bench for over 6 months and I replaced it with a Kahles. I’ll get around to shooting it sooner or later. Or later..

thats certainly understandable for a 2500$ scope. mine shot really well today but ???
you sent it back to NF for repair??

Some years back I dumped my NFs for the same reason. After giving you lots of money don't insult me and expect me to walk away happy. I might be in the market for a new scope on my one rifle looking for more than the 50x my Sightron SVEDs give me. I love how bright and repeatable they have been but getting older, needing more power. Logical choice is NF Comp but given my experiences with NF warranty I might stretch the budget and go March.

@JEFFPPC your going to really stretch it to the Majesta to get
a better scope. The 10-60x56 HM are not enough of a jump up from the NF
to make it worth you while. The Majesta adds the 80x but also $1000 clams
from the 10-60x56
And at 80x it does get darker. No free lunch.

I have looked through an 80. It's kinda ugly except that 500 yard target looked like it was a foot in front of my face.

Changed out my NF for a Kahles 1050 that I found for sale in a classified and love it!
Very clear and bright though the fine cross hairs and dot in the centre, especially the dot, can disappear against a black X ring under certain lighting situations {Just center up the cross hairs and go for it}
Compares favorably to my March Majesta that now sits on my long range 1,000yd rifle but have used it at that distance very successfully in the past.
Depending on your budget either one is a winner though be aware that the Majesta is a Heavy scope if weight is an issue for you.
Let me point out that the Kahles K1050 has one of the smallest FOV of any higher magnification scopes around at a 17.2° AOV (calculated from the specs at their website.) This represents 18feet at 1000 yards at 50X for the Kahles.
In comparison, the Majesta with its 25° AOV will have, at the same magnification (50X), an FOV of 26feet at 1000yards. In fact, the Majesta will have the same FOV at 73X, that the Kahles has at 50X.

You need to compare the riflescopes set at the same magnification if you're going to draw conclusions.

Yes indeed, the Majesta is a heavier scope than the Kahles or the Comp and there's a reason for that: the additional glass to provide the majestic vista from the wide-angle eyepiece.

I'm like you and Tim Allen on Tool Time, MORE POWER!
You can turn it down and it does clear up.
It does get a bit grainier the higher above 60x But as you said, it's in your face.
Hard to beat the NF comp. for the money compared to the March scopes.

Ok, I gave in and bought a NFComp. I like it, especially the extra 5 power up to 55. Now for brightness, my SVED SIGHTRONS to me are clear winners. The NF shows me 6mm holes bigger at 500 yd. and us old guys need that.
