Comments...Pac-Nor barrels. Need Comments!

Groove qty @ Land height.

I as other Competitive Bench Rest shooters shoot Krieger/Shilen/Hart/Broughton...Aswell as others.
They work with very few bummers....

Wanting to try a Pac-Nor Supermatch SS in LV contour 6mm,possibly a 4 groove 1-14" .236 groove)in 2006 NBRSA comp.
I'm waiting on an E-mail reply from Chris at Pac-Nor for his
recommendations on rifleing land quantity and land height options with his buttons.

Comments from non-benchrest shooters are welcome,Various .22 barrels or 6mm BR shooters esspecially slower twist rates).
Basically comments on the 3,4 & 5 land barrels.

Thanks all! :comp:

Mine shoots great,,prefitted and chambered for my Savage) and Pac Nor's are in good showing the that region. I am going to use a Pac Nor for my NBRSA Hunter class rifle and won't feel under barreled.

I am shooting my first Pac-Nor on a 6BR that I built for live varmint hunting. I am very happy with the barrel. I have fired 300 rounds with it. My barrel is the remington sendero contour 10 twist five land version. It cleans up extremely easy I would say just as good as a shilen. The only little quirk with this barrel is that it really takes five fouling shots after cleaning to get it to settle down. It is no big deal I just always shoot five shots at home before I go to a dog town. As for the company they are very helpful. I had better luck just calling Pac-Nor and talking to the guys in the shop. Delivery time was ahead of schedule and their work was of very high quality. I bought the barrel for live varmint work but since have developed a load for the 95 gr berger VLD that shoots awesome at 600 yds and am planning on shooting it in some F-class matches this summer.

I brought 2 6mm,1:8 barrels which should have been 3 groove.
Instead i got 4 groove. I asked the question as to why i got 4 groove and not 3. As it was their mistake they gave me the next barrel free of charge. Just had to pay for postage.
How about that for service

I won't hesitate buying a Pac-nor barrel. They shoot as well as better as a Kreiger from what I have seen with me own two eyes.

Gunsmiths told me this though: "I have never heard or seen a bad boots obyermeyer barrel."

Great barrels awesome service. I had a Pac Nor Stainless Super Match in 6mm/284. I had Pac Nor do the chambering, 1st class job. Accuracy was definately 1/4 inch at 100, and at 200 yards it was a consistent 1/2 inch.

My barrel was a 3 groove, once I had broken it in it cleaned up real fast. Usually took 5 patches and the bore was squeeky clean.

Chris & Penny were professional and very friendly. I would definately buy another barrel off them and recommend them to anyone.

Cheers,

Michael.

I have three Pac Nor Super Match barrels in different calibers. I've examined them all very carefully with a Hawkeye borescope. The interior lapped bore is excellent, overall fit and finish is excellent, good service, decent turn around time. Pac Nor used my reamer for one of the barrels and their reamers for the other two barrels. They actually called me before they reamed the .308 barrel to see how I wanted it throated. It is a 1-12" that I wanted throated to shoot from 110 grn. to 168 grn. bullets. I just started to shoot this 3 groove barrel and it is proving to be a hummer. It cleans very easily. Pac Nor is one of the better companies to do business with. I inquired specific questions about their 6mm BR reamers and Chris e-mailed me the reamer prints. Penny is a charm to deal with as well. They will definitely get more of my return business.

I have 1 Lilja, 1 Bartlien, and all the rest are Pac-Nor SS SM barrels and they will shoot easily as good as any I have. The service is outstanding, and any problems that may pop up are taken care of very nicely. I had a minor problem with one barrel and they replaced it, and didn't even want the old one back, I still shoot that one as a varmint barrel..
Penny is as good as it gets, send her flowers, she likes em 'O)

All sounds great! The one aspect which is not discussed here is: how long do they last vs Kreiger, Bartlein, Border & other cut-rifled barrels? If they hold out about the same amount of shots, I may consider a Pac Nor myself.??

Have used Pac-Nor, Shilen, Douglas, Hart, Shaw, Lothar Walther,
McGowen, etc. Have a few dozen Pac-Nors.

Service and support are great. Nothing but good to say.

If you will travel to Oregon to pick up your barrel, Penny will pick fresh wild blackberries right outside the door and make you a blackberry cobbler with handcranked ice cream.
