Comfortable slip-resistant work shoes: Need advice

This is not a gun related post.

I work in the auto repair industry. I’m not a mechanic but do spend a lot of time on the shop floor. Slick concrete with random fluids all over. It’s a slip and fall nightmare. Tried several brands of shoes but haven’t found anything that gives me good, reliable traction.

Hoping someone here has found the “magic bullet” shoe for high slip surfaces. Thanks guys!

I’m a piping designer by trade. I find myself in chemical plants a lot walking over a wide variety of surfaces. Some slick, some sticky.

Slick is a tough one, but I really like my Keene safety boots. They do the job for me. They are like wearing a pair of lightweight hiking boots.

I bought them because I was looking for the most comfortable boots I could find. Everything else was secondary.

Hope this helps.

Ecco boots. The most comfortable boot I ever found. As a builder/ contractor, I was on my feet all day. Cleated soles like a hiking boot but with a brown rubber sole that doesn't leave black scuffs everywhere. Now, I think any boot or shoe is gonna slip if you step in a pool of oil.

When i have to wear over ankle height boots i wear keen composite toe hiking boots. They are like wearing a good pair of tennis shoes. When only safety shoe is designated i wear reebok safety shoes. They are an air soled alloy toe tennis shoe with memory foam massaging insoles. When im working im out and about for 18+ hrs a day for months and i dont have foot issues anymore like i used to. I walk about 15-19,000 steps a day according to apple.

Skechers Work Force Dexters I work in a bottling plant with water and all sorts of food grade oils and grease on the floors. They keep me on my feet.
My first pair lasted 4 yrs and they are about 70 bucks a pair. I am on my 3rd pair, they are as comfortable as tennis shoes.

Redwing with Stargrip x2 sole. You can get them in steel toe and non steel toe. Best I have found. I have had these for 3 years. I have used them on floors saturated with ATF, hydraulic oil, cutting oil, and other nasty stuff. They are chemical resistant to boot.

Thanks for the information! Will check out each shoe suggested.
Have a look at Keen. I"m a mechanic, concrete floors. Keen has excellent support, non slip, steel toe if you want it(heavier). OK, wheres my Keen sponsorship money.

As it turns out, my current work shoes are Keen. The comfort is definitely there but ( at least with the pair I have) traction and durability are severely lacking. Maybe I have the wrong style/model?

after spending 40 years at sea,I have found no soles are slip free,,non-skid your decks with sand or nut shell and don't fall,,major roadrash on a ship,,

Skechers with the non slip sole. Looking at them they aren't anything special. Tread pattern looks like a highway tire. But I have seen them work on membrane roofs better than anything else we have tried on a surface that can't have cleats. They fit well. And if you have enough people at your work you can sign up for a skechers account at save 35%. The company does not pay, they just have to agree to share promotion stuff once per quarter family and friends sale. Employees can get shoes online or at a store.

check out shoes for crews (.com) I work in the restaurant world and these work great on greasy floors and they have pretty good support ( good price point too). bryant :)

I used to wear Sketchers with steel toe and non slip some. They were very comfortable. Never wore Keen work.boot but love the hiking boots.
