Colt 22

colt.jpg Saw a Colt Government 22 lr made in Germany by Walther, Anybody have experience with one? good or bad. has 3 mags with it for about 300, no box

Ive seen them being shot. Seems to be ok. I think that price is about what they are new. Theyre real light aluminum almost pot metal like

Bought one to introduce the kids to pistolry - we have about 1500 rds on it now. Federal Automatch feeds reliably, and the pistol is reasonably accurate. Controls are identical to a 'real ' Colt Government Model, which made their transition to .45 ACP a snap.

Oddly, it's thrown the recoil spring and plug twice now... still trying to figure out what's going on there.

Wife has one so does the youngest daughter and her husband. Both guns have been reliable thru about 300 rds. being shot, neither has been fussy about ammo choice.

Very lightweight alloy construction, skeptical regarding how they will hold up over 2-3000 rounds. Good trainer for new shooters and those wanting to acclimate to 1911's.
