Colorado State Long Range Championships at Byers

Warren Dean

Team Savage F-TR
Well, the Colorado State Long Range matches are in the books. Congratulations to Alton Johnson for winning FTR and Norm Harrold for winning F-open. It was a tough battle and very few points between places in FTR and I think F-Open was an X count race. I didn't pay much attention the F-Open scores. :P The weather and wind were challenging and the best rose to the occasion. Matt Peetz and crew did an outstanding job running the match and it ran very smoothly. The pair firing format makes for the ability to accommodate double the number of shooters as there are firing points. And pair firing will make you REALLY pay attention to conditions when you are under the gun with 45 seconds to get your shot off. It worked very nicely. Hats off to Matt and crew for a job well done!!

This was a great match! Well ran, nice venue, great food, nice prizes, and awesome shooters to compete with. Matt, Kori, Matt's mom, Robert, and Art did an outstanding job of putting this together and pulling it off. You all should mark your calendars for this match next year.

Definitely on my calendar for next year.

Hell we would love to go back now, this Texas heat is killing us…

If you missed it this year, sure try to make it next year…
