Colorado Senate Votes to Ban Semi-Auto gun sales

Death by a 1000 cuts. They will keep making these kind of laws every year until lawful gun owners cannot buy guns anymore. Unfortunately there isn't a damn thing we can do about it. Denver and Boulder control the state and what they want they get...

Support this idea.......however, does anyone really think congress would draft, much less subsequently approve, such legislation? I don't have much confidence in that path.

I think our current POTUS has the balls.....the rest of congress, not so much.:(

Our Potus will make those non-loyalist congress grow balls real fast and get trained, including some on the other side of the isle. He will have everyone of those dirtbags compromised shortly once the DOGE boys finish their job way before midterms. We might not hear about all the scandals, if you get my drift. I am not even a politican so thats what I would do but they are so it is guaranteed they will do it. And Trump loves his son, jr.

This seems like some sort of Deja Vu. Didn't the Supreme Court already rule that semi auto (AR's) fall under the common use rules and were exempt from these types of state laws. The new AG will straighten this out with Colorado. Say what you want, but this falls under the definition of an insurrection and amounts to treason. What's the difference between this and the Civil War of 1861?

Why wait for the bill to pass. It was introduced by someone recall them immediately. It will not go unnoticed by the rest of the commies.
If I have my info right, the father of a victim of the theater mass shooting here is a senator now, introduced it and was written by outside people.

Quit hunting in Colorado, or even visiting the state. Hurt them in the wallet and let them know why. Only way to get their attention
That is exactly what my crew and I did IRT Kalifornia.

We used to take two weeks to shoot ground squirrels in N. CA every year, now with the lead ban, and no reciprocal carry, we just don't go there any more. It's an unfriendly atmosphere, period.

So now the motel money we spent does not go there, the fuel/gas, food and resturants and other sundries or money went for do not go there either. Not sure if it makes any difference in the long run, but it makes us both legal and feel like we've actually done something.

Can't carry, don't go. (Every one of my crew has CWP here, not recognized in CA) Even if miniscule, it's a difference.

welcome to New Calirado!

what part of "shall not be infringed" dont they understand???

I understand it is like 10 to 1 in opposition to this bill, but moves along despite it. seems to me its a well written play and the ending is also written.
we'll see what happens after it goes to court.

Semi-Auto Ban Clinches Final Approval in the Senate

Senate Bill 25-003, or the Semi-Automatic Firearm Ban and Gun Owner Registry, just passed its third and final vote in the state Senate and will now advance to the even more anti-gun state House of Representatives. If it makes it through the House, the bill’s next stop will be Governor Polis’s desk for signature into law.

Senate Bill 3, in its original form, sought to entirely ban access to a majority of semi-automatic firearms commonly used for self-defense, home defense, and sport shooting. However, out of fear they wouldn’t be able to secure the governor’s support for the bill, they effectively re-wrote it with a litany of amendments, somehow managing to make it even worse.

Under Senate Bill 3 in its new form, Coloradans will be eligible to purchase any of the firearms this bill restricts only if they’ve completed the following actions:
  • Received from their Sheriff, after submitting their fingerprints for a criminal background screening, an eligibility/ID card that qualifies them to participate in a firearms safety course.
  • Having received the eligibility/ID card from their Sheriff, completed an extended firearms safety course within five years before the purchase, or completed both a hunter safety course and a basic firearms safety course within five years before the purchase.
  • Having completed all the steps above, passed an exam testing their knowledge of the safety course’s subject matter with a score not less than 90 percent.

To receive the above-mentioned eligibility/ID card, you must pay a processing fee to the Sheriff’s Office. To take the required courses, you must pay a fee, in an amount not yet determined, to the instructor of the course, who will then remit the fee to the state to fund a gun owner registry you will be required to submit your name to.

The creation of a gun owner registry is almost always an early step governments take in the process of confiscating arms.

And to top it all off, the bill allows your local Sheriff to make a subjective judgement call on his or her own perception of your moral character to determine if you can even get to the starting line of the lengthy process required to obtain “permission” to exercise your rights.

A right, by definition, is not something the government permits you to exercise.

In summary, this is a terrible gun bill that flies in the face of freedom. The fight to defeat it is far from over.

Preliminary indications are that billions were going to leftist NGO's who would pay themselves handsomely, generate their leftist propaganda and do their socialist masters bidding. Then they would take the remainder of funds and donate them to causes which support the leftist agenda and the DNC. In other words, your tax dollars have been used to fund ideology most do not agree with then fund the DNC with the leftovers. That they are screaming like scalded cats should be no surprise. Their gravy train is off the tracks. I hope people end up in prison over this scam.

I blame the voters, not the politicians who they elected. Here in the socialist state of Delaware, we have to do the same to buy a handgun, even a revolver. Unfortunately Colorado was over run with Californians and Delaware's been over run with New Yorkers, New Jerseyites, Marylanders and other left wing states and they brought their politics with them.
A lot of these politicians weren’t legitimately elected. Dominion likely installed them (I think Dominion may even be headquartered there). Once we get voter Id and hand counted paper ballots id bet money these wack jobs no longer win a damn thing

I don't know if that is the case but Pelosi is rumored to be an investor in the company. If not she sure defends them.

Says every liberal gun hating politician ever, their end goal!

And thanks to last years approved HB24-1353 , FFL dealers must now also acquire a state firearms dealer permit at the yearly cost of $400.00, from the state beginning July 01, 2025. Ughhh:mad:
Just death by a thousand cuts.

We get same view of East bound on I-40 here. Unbelievable amount of them trying to get out. I bet truck traffic is ten fold of what it was before 2020 too.
