Colorado is an antigun state.

Colorado's Govenor just signed SB003. read it here: https://legiscan.com/CO/text/SB003/id/3043012
There are many aspects to this law. One of them is the Colorado Parks and Wildlife was to come up with a 12 hrs course so you can get a semiauto. I love hunting but I am not going to give another dime to CPW.
I emailed twice CPW to let them know I will not be buying any more hunting or fishing licenses.
I hope other people who hunt in CO do the same.

I've given up on anything apart from punching holes in paper.

I suspected the participation costs would ruin shooting sports in the US and it would become an activity for the rich.

And here we are.

Soon shooting at all will be cost-prohibitive.

I lived in Colorado from 1987 until January 10 2023. Every time I go back there I can't believe what a S hole it has become. It was going downhill for years, but in the last 5 to 10 years they have accelerated the spin around the drain. There is an endless list of crappy laws, regulations, costs, taxes and other reductions of freedom.

I don't follow it exactly but since I left there. There is now a 3 day waiting period on all gun purchases after the background check. 11% additional tax on ammo and I believe reloading supplies. This new B.S. on the purchase of the "most lethal weapon on the market". Wolves. There is a new law on storage of guns in cars. Red Flag laws were enacted before I left. Background check in Colorado costs $10. The public shooting range in Basalt has video cameras at the entrance, the parking lot, and all the benches, video is stored forever, accessible to "all law enforcement".

Folks
This is out of hand. Pay attention in your own states, and take care of your families.
These far left whack-jobs are focused on weird “stuff”!

It proves the truth is stranger than fiction!

It should be required that the parents are present if these kids talk to anyone about this subject. Pure evil is all it boils down to.
In all seriousness, we have a severe parenting problem in this country. Most parents haven`t a clue what their kids are up to or who is filling their brains full of liberal poison. The leftists know this and take full advantage of it. Its a conditioning of the young.

Is this largely because of migration of California fruitcakes to Colorado?

It is funny how these things work, and it is a phenomenon that probably happens across the country. An example is the rural (once rural) township that I went to high school in. Back in the 80s, you could hunt and shoot there. People from the cities and suburbs started moving in because they liked the open/rural lifestyle that they saw. Once they got there, things that always were in the area started to bother these new people, examples of that might be:
1) Animals and the smell of manure
2 Farming vehicles on the roadways
3) People hunting, shooting and fishing

These are parts of the lifestyle in the area that these people wanted to move to, what made it what it was. Once they got there, they started making complaints about these kinds of things, and worked to get things changed. What they started to change things to were already how things were where they moved from. Would it not have been easier to remain where they were?

In the last couple of years I have seen political signs in yards that say "Keep <name of locality> Rural". The funny thing about that is that the signs are all in front of homes that are new and look like suburbia, homes that have been built not long ago and are NOT keeping the township rural.

We are witnessing the downfall of our Republic as we know it. In small but steady increments, the Communists are taking over. Some theories say the Chicoms are behind it. Some say the Russians.

If the threat of taking away kids for such a reason does not motivate people to do what needs to be done , I have no sympathy for them !!

Background checks are now $15 here in CO. Our gun shows will be a thing of the past, as well as gun stores/FFL's. The liberals/socialists are like Covid. They are spreading around the country and killing off the 2A.
I would hate to see the effect of a boycott of visiting CO, on small business in small towns, but a boycott would be the only thing that would put a spotlight on the anti-gun laws and the effect it is having on the states economy. Hurting the state in the wallet would be the only thing that might change things. With Denver and Boulder and the Front Range voters, I don't think they are too worried about conservative voters and 2A supporters getting enough people in the legislature to block their agendas.
Would love to become part of Utah and get away from the insanity here. I am about ready to leave, but the thought of moving all my stuff is the only drawback. 20 years younger and I would be out of here.
Almost moved to Montana or Wyoming decades ago. Now I wish I had chosen one of those states instead of Colorado. Sad to see what it has become, a cesspool like CA.

I went to Colo. hunting in the san juan mountains in the 70s. That highway that runs in the south part of the state goes to Dunton wasnt populated. Went to a wedding at Dunton a few years ago looks like a suburb now. Theres your sign. Doug
