CMP F-Class and Tactical

They have Tactical shooting sling targets at midrange but f-class targets at long range.
Policy or typo????

They also now have midrange prone for f-class, tactical and service. Leaving out Any and Palma at midrange????

That is interesting. And it does say AR Tactical shoots the LRFC for long range. That's a tough target.

I also noticed they didn't mention mag fed or anything about mags in the AR Tac which makes sense since mag fed won't work at 1000yrd....at least not for me.

Good point, I missed that they dropped the no sled clause.

They're also allowing taping higher mag variable scopes at 15x. That opens up more purchasing possibilities than the NRA hard 15x upper limit.

just make sure you are prepared to comply with the CMP eye protection requirements. Otherwise looks pretty much like a copy of the NRA F class rule. THere are some differences in the AR tac class, in particular it's shot on the F class target, has more yard lines, and loses the "no sled" rules

Not clear if tactical is going to be f-class targets or not.
The new rules specify sling targets at 600 and f-class targets at long range.
That's a weird compromise policy or a typo on one or the other.
I don't much care but I doubt if they really intend the mis-match.

Eyepro is a zero issue for me. My prescription glasses satisfy the minimum requirements, my two ranges where I usually shoot mandate it anyway and it came as a surprise to me that cmp didn't already mandate eye pro. "eyes and ears" is a given for me.

I've never been to Camp Perry, but it could be a logistic compromise. Will they only be shooting F-Class Targets at the long range on that day? IDK. It does not really matter to me as long as everyone I'm in competition with is on the same target I'm shooting:).
