CMP Benchrest!

So pigs are flying, it's snowing in hell and CMP has created two benchrest events.

The equipment and technique is very limited:

The rifle may be supported
with one or two sandbag rests or kneeling rolls or other similar supports that
may be placed under the rifle fore-end. A rear rest may not be used. The butt-
plate is supported by the shoulder. The butt-stock may not rest on the bench
or be supported by anything that rests on the bench. If the match sponsor
provides sandbag rests for all firing points, those rests must be used by all
competitors.

The events are Vintage Military Rifle Benchrest which includes all the Garand-Springfield-Vintage rifle classes(not sniper)
and Rimfire Sporter Benchrest which includes all 3 existing rifle classes(O,T,T/U)

So that means issue irons in vintage and open irons or max 6x scope in rimfire.
My first try at rimfire I did worse than I can do sling prone and I suck at sling prone.

so just to be clear, 'military bolt action benchrest' HAS BEEN AN ORGANIZED SPORT FOR OVER 20 YEARS. AS USUAL CMP IS LATE TO THE GAME AND HAS SILLY RULES....shooting from a bench DOES NOT MAKE IT BENCHREST
(OKLAHOMA TO CALIFORNIA)

I'm in the east at a CMP dominated club so ...
