Chuck,
That really doesn't look so bad to me.................unless that's in your kitchen! Then; I'm thinking you might have a chance in the contest!

I have a Dillon 550 on one end and a rock Chucker on the other. Just bought a Hornady 50 BMG kit and realized how little room I would have.

Found a solution :D

Look at Pat Marlins Rock Dock press mounting system. Just bought and installed it. You can mount various presses (or other things like trimmers) on aluminum plates and swap them out as needed in an aluminum mounting bracket on the bench. Slick stuff!!

He has a website with pics and ordering info. Top shelf guy and product. Will post pics and a review when time allows. It opened all kinds of room on my bench.

Dan

I was looking at these and after several failed email attempts. I went with inline fabrications Quickchange setup. It seems he updated his website as the old one didn't offer ordering info.

To add to the OP, my reloading bench is the least uncluttered area I have (with what little space my wife allows me.) All my Presses and scale get covered with an old pillow case when I'm done for the day and everything gets put back in its place. I finish up by putting a coat of beeswax on the bench top to help clean it off and protect it.

Last year after back surgery, while on the pain meds that let me think I was superhuman and also allowed me to focus on ONE thing at a time, I decided that my reloading room was too cramped. So, I boxed up the 4 thousand 12 ga and the 2 thousand 20 and 28, took down my Mec loaders (I had shot maybe a box of each in the last ten years) and boxed them in the AMMO room. Then I emptied my reloading room of all the metallic loading stuff. Looked it all over and installed 7 cabinets and two countertops. I put my T7 on one end, my powder measure nearby, and left room for c-clamp mounted tools. I left the other counter open, for gun fixin and scope work. Recently I added a short "L" to it, and mounted a Dillon 550B. All my stuff is now behind cabinet doors, or on top, out of sight. I have three times the room and half the mess. And my output have increased exponentially. Once it was a bit here and there, now it is 500 here, 1000 there. (and yes, my house is tilting a bit, as the ammo room is at one end).... :o

I like it clean

Here's a thought......

If a cluttered bench is a sign of a cluttered mind......what's an empty bench a sign of?????

And Ridgeway, your bench looks pretty good compared to mine.

Are you kiddin'... Chuck's bench looks like he has maid service from Martha Stewart!

;) ;) ;)

things we use in neat little boxes/drawers with printed labels on each, neat , organized and they just sit there! i have three 4x8 benches with shelves above and below and most of my stuff can be seen...bullets are in boxes/drawers. there is a 12 square inch space on each bench where i do my thing. organized clutter is a sign of genius.

Here is my bench/cabinet setup. I used a router to put aluminum T-Track in the bench top so I can slide my presses forward/backward and remove them if necessary.

Watched an episode of Shootout Lane last night.
After seeing Jerry Miculek's shop I don't feel quite so bad about mine.

I have had to clean my bench off twice so far this year. One thing I am good at - I never have more than ONE powder on the bench!

Winner!

And for extra credit
mess_2_zpsq0b6ycep.jpg

I shoot at least one match sometimes two every weekend. Having to prep and load a couple hundred rounds every week and clean and work on the guns that were shot or will be shot doesn't lend itself to being very neat.

I learned the hard way a couple days ago about keeping one container of powder on the bench at one time....I was done loading and emptied my Chargemaster into the container sitting close by except I dumped a half pound of Varget into a can of H4831.....two difficult to get powders to boot. I was very upset at myself for that one and have been racking my head to figure out how to separate it....I had an idea when I went to the local gun shop....I bought 100 feet of waterproof cannon fuse so Ill get rid of the unusable powder one way or another. I have to remember to SLOOOOOWWWW DOOWWNNN.....lesson learned....two pounds of powder lighter

That's the kind of question a democrat would ask :( :( :(...

I'm an Independent - :P

Moving towards becoming a "minimalist" is not anti-gun; it's downsizing to keeps things simple and to meet one's needs. :P

Close Wolley ,but I see no tools stacked on top of each other. All the bullets and brass are in separate containers. Also a cloth or paper down on the table with no visible beer can ring! Minus points for that. But a good effort!

Yep Wolley,

I cleaned mine up once and it looked about like that.

Good eye, 338 Mollett,

I caught that right off as well, no tools stacked on top of tools. Also, no boxes of stuff stacked on top of tools on top of tools and not a thing sitting on or hanging off his stool. The floor part of his extra credit submission had potential but the benchtop items are just way too accessible.

Greetings everyone, first post on this site. I'm a bit OCD and this topic is near & dear to my heart. I prefer keeping a neat & organized bench, and yes, you can do it with a compact store bought bench. I am relegated to a small space in my office for reloading, so I packed as much as I could in a 10 ft wide area. Using Inline Fab mounts for everything saves a lot of space too.
