Closed cell gun case foam

The last time I needed foam to do a different cut out for a different gun in a box I looked until I was blue in the face. Almost cheaper to buy a new Plano on sale but I found a sale on at this place with reasonable shipping.

Well, their "firm foam" sure is cheap enough. I ordered a couple pieces in the size I needed. If it turns out to be too soft to hold the 35+ pound barreled action on my 50, . I can cut it down for one of my smaller cases.. Thanks for the tip !

Dave I hope it turns out for you. I was worried about what I was going to get from them but it turned out to be good foam for me. Thinking about it, it sneaking up on 5 years since I got the first foam from them and it has stayed firm not turned mushy. I like cut out patterns in the foam rather than just smash it between the foam as you shut the case. My wife does all the cut out work for me.

When I bought my Americase for my AR50, it was designed to withstand traveling by air, which I have no intention of doing in the near future. I think it will work fine, as it only gets handled from the house to the car . If not, my other cases are getting upgraded, which they could desperately use.

Original Pelican 1750 Solid middle piece of foam. "Grey" 1750 Replacement foam from Pelican. $34 from Amazon. Approx. dimensions of 1750 middle solid foam 50.50" x 13.50" x 1.60" This dense foam is easy to cut with a sharp blade. My 17 pound Wheeler Benchrest will not squeeze it flat. Great protection.

I'd bet you a Yankee Dollar that one of your wife's friends is an RN and works at a hospital. They put waffle foam pads in the beds to prevent bedsores. For sanitary reasons, those pads get chucked when a patient checks out. There's nothing wrong with them. Just the issue of litigation if they reuse them.

Your rifle may get bedsores!
