Clearcoat on bare wood stock?

Oh man I wanted the easy button.

Now I'm looking at spray guns.

@Bc'z - I don't see a 37x4 - Looks like there's a 5 and a 6 though.

Well, that's why I started out with the 2k spray cans.

It wont be my last stock... so in for a penny in for a pound
I get it. I’ve been through a metric shit ton of Spraymax in the past. Obviously you know that ya gotta have dry and conditioned air. Upgrade all your fittings to high flow/high cfm fittings. Match your gun up with the cfm of your compressor and look for the 1.2/1.3 for shooting base and clear. We all know @Bc'z is the go to for all things paint.

I painted cars at a high end shop before going into LE. As a hobby I have been painting guns since 2003 with Cerakote, Duracoat and automotive clears. Honestly just bring it to a shop and get it sprayed. Unless you have experience or want to do more in the future its not worth it for one stock. I can walk you through it. You'll need to seal the grain with clear resin before you clear coat. Once sealed you can clear it. You might have to clear it then wet sand and polish. Spend the money and go with a good high solids urethane clear. It won't shrink and stands up to any chemicals. Pm me if need be.
