CLEAR BALLISTICS GEL TESTING on old west firearms

hi guys, my name is Savvy Jack and I enjoy old west firerarms. My first love is the 44-40 (44WCF) cartridge and all the firearms that chamber it. Since there is not much if any ballistics testing, and many say it is a retired and en-effective cartridge, I thought I would do the testing myself.

Revolvers are tested muzzle at ten feet from the gel face.
Black powder chrono is at 15ft from muzzle AFTER testing.
Chrono is at gel face
Rifle is at 50 yards....rest same as above.

The purpose of the testing is gel penetration, and expansion if so designed. Velocity at impact represents distance shots at and greater than 50 yards for rifle. I can't hit the 6" gel target way out there....my eyes are old! Therefor I may load the cartridge for slower velocities to represent distance shots.
