Sunday Bugholes of Southern Precision Rifles came over to the Dasher DOME. Calibers were 308, 284 win., 300 Ultra Mag, 338 Lapua, 375 Cheytac. We started at 800 yards. Bugholes had a first shot kill on the 12 inch plate and followed it up with his second shot a hit on Ole Chuckie. When he hit the prarie dog Chico swinger, I thought the stand was comming dow. He also wore the metal out at 800 with the 300 Ultra Mag. shooting 230's at 3150 fps.
Then we moved up on top of the hill and took aim at a 18 in plate at 1430 yards. It had been cloudy with excellent conditions, but now the clouds had cleared and the sun was in hour eyes. But we could see the splash with the large calibers.
I started things out and got two hits with my Viper SS 284 Win. Then Bugholes hit with the 338 Lapua and the 300 Ultra Mag.
Junebug arrives about this time and he sits down and spots for a while with the NF ACTAR on the 284. Later I told him to take a shot with the 284. He asked how to hold and I told him it was zeroed and hour before he got here and to hold the crosshair dead center. Junebug touched the Jewell and FIRST ROUND HIT. I told Junebug not to build himself a 284 because they don't shoot. Everyone laughed.
After Bugholes ran out of ammo I set the 375 cheytac up and got a hit. I had 3 shells for it left and told Bugholes since he smithed the rifle to take the last 3 shots. This was his first time to shoot it.
Shots one and two were hits. He had a big smile on his face. 2 for 3 at 1430 yds - not to shabby for the BLACKBIRD
