Cleaning solution ?

I recently came into possession of a small 25cal pistol. I was able to cold blue the exterior to the extent that it looks pretty good. Upon disassembly there was evidence of rust. Is there a solution for my ultrasonic cleaner that will safely clean the disassembled parts?

is your machine heated? if so get it hot with water and simple green. be sure to blow the parts off with compressed air upon removal and oil as soon as possible.

. . . or, if your ultrasonic is not heated, pre-heat your cleaning solution on the stove to 180 degrees or so, pour it into the ultrasonic and cycle. Compressed air and oil immediately afterwards, like Dusty said.

0000 steel wool can be used on the oiled parts if rust remains visible. Wipe the part down with solvent and re-oil when finished.
