Cleaning patches for 20 caliber?

I cut my own patches as well, which makes them pretty precise for 17, 20, 22, 7mm and 308 calibers. I just mark ziplock bags with each caliber, and do some testing when cleaning with a particular material, to determine what is the optimal dimension (based on thickness) for that cloth to be cut, to fit a particular caliber, then I make a bunch of them, while watching YouTube videos!

Initially I had a pair of shorts, made of a white cotton material like linen, which tore, and I realized, Hey, this might make a good material for patches, rather than just throw them away! And, now I look for cloth that would be strong, so they won't tear (like the crappy T-shirt material patches do) and it's been an excellent inexpensive source for cleaning patches. YMMV

I have some .22 rimfire patches that work perfectly in my .20s. Before I gave these a try, I just kept a pair of scissors handy.

I also use 5.56 patches. If they're a bit too snug I try a .17 jag.

I cut my own from 21/4 and 3 inch sq.patches I have on hand.

I wrap all patches Parker Hale style so they're usually cut in rectangular shape.

I'll probably just buy a yard of white flannel when my existing patch supply runs out.
