Cleaning Kit Recommendations

Looking for a recommendation on a quality cleaning kit for benchrest shooters

Buy yourself a quality one peice cleaning rod. Buy a bunch of brushes and jags and a bore guide. Don't bother with any of the kits.

Just my 2 cents.

Forget the kits as previously mentioned. Go here for a coated rod or two, jags, and brushes: http://www.deweyrods.com/ .

In addition, add a Lucas Two-Piece Bore Guide, Butch's Bore Shine, JB Bore Cleaning Compound or Iosso Bore Paste, Sweets 7.62, Lighter Fluid, Lock-Ease, a cover for the rear stock, and plenty of Pro-Shot patches and your in business.

+1 on making your own "kit" a good one piece rod some nylon brushes jags bore guide patchs and a lug cleaning set up should do you well

suggest you use a fishing tackle box for storage and transport of brushes, jags, etc. Get short plastic storage bottles for your "fluids" and they also fit.
I took an old tackle box, one row of trays for .22, one for .24, and one for .30 stuff, etc.
Also suggest you go ahead and get the storage tubes for the Dewey rods. Then you grab the tackle box and the rod carrier and you are set to go, with nothing forgotten.
I guess they make nice range boxes that do all of the above, but I figured I would put a tackle box to use.
