Cleaning Bergara B14R rod/bore guide advice needed

What rods or bore guides do you guys use? The extractor is in the way to use a typical bore guide and will rub and scratch the coating on a coated rod. TIA

I recently purchased L3I adjustable magazines for mine and they listed b14r bore guide so picked that up also. Haven't tried it yet as the rifle is still in build stage and the Smith has all the goodies. I should have it back soon and will let you know how it fits!

The ejector of the Bergara is quite different from other rimfire that I've own. Others were a rigid part of the action and quite agressive with the coated rod. On the Beraga, it's a pivoting (slightly) part, I found it to be less agressive even if I use an home made design (3d printed) bore guide.

Some day, I'll buy a "factory" made from delrin or so, as it will more convenient to keep the inside clean.
"Possum Hollow" make a good one.

Is this thing cut away like the bore tech for clearance of the ejector? Or is the hole fully in tact up to the breech face? Hoping to find something that will keep the solvent in the tube like most bore guides. Thanks

I think, if it wasn’t cut away it wouldn’t go all the way in. I don’t think there is a Rimfire bore guide that isn’t cut for the ejector. I could be wrong.

You do not want it to go to breach face which is why the really good two piece ones generally don’t.
First, even if it did, solvent still slops out if you use too much. Seems like lots of guys use too much, you only need a drop or two on a patch.
The primary reason you don’t, is to watch your rod going in and steer it to keep it in the middle of the chamber rather than running hard down the side…….potential rod related damage.
