cleaning at the range ?

The guy I bought my Hammerli 208 from said he only ever used a PatchWorm. So it's all I've ever used as well. I think it works just fine for the .22lr lead bullets. I'm fine with the PatchWorm, but not a fan of a bore-snake. I like that I'm not pushing a metal rod through the barrel, no brass brushes. Just soft plastic.

I think I bought it from Creedmoor, a small foam piece, about 25 cal. attached to a green hollow plastic tube about 25" long.put the tapered end thru the chamber and thread it out the muzzle and pull the foam piece thru the chamber and barrel. When I am testing 22 LR amo to see what my rifle likes I do this between different brands of amo. I am hoping to remove some of the lube from one brand before I use a different brand with a different lube. Other than that I still believe, "friends don't let friends use Bore Snakes."

Let me draw your attention to:

- jar where every used patch goes

I want to say thank you for this!

One of my pet peeves is people who clean at the range and leave their patches all over the ground and the concrete shooting pad. Really, if you're going to all the trouble of cleaning your bore how much more trouble would it be to put them in the trash can which is right beside you? I've often wondered how someone can be so conscientious as to clean their gun but then have no concern for the community.

You are welcome.

I'm not bashing bench rest shooters, but after a match at our range, the ground is littered with patches. I wonder what their basement/garage/bedroom floor looks like at their house where they clean their rifles.

When I'm on the ranch I just treat it like I would want folks to treat it, if I owned it. I'll pickup trash I see (if it isn't too big) and mend fences I see others have shot.
