Cleaning action & parts POST bedding

What's y'alls favorite way to clean up actions and parts post bedding job? You know, the parts that are now covered in some type of wax and or play dough.

I was thinking along the lines of an ultra sonic cleaner, but i wasnt sure if that was aggressive enough.

Use caution on anything blued in an ultrasonic. It'll unblue it.

For a stainless action, I don't mind stripping it and dropping it in the tank. Or just a microfiber towel and some alcohol

I had cautioned that in my mind. The current project i am doing is blued, so thanks for the heads up.

Those corners and crevices drive me crazy though doing it with towels and Q-tips and such.

I use acetone.

Parts Washer with a stiff Nylon Brush

Might try a wipe down with some WD-40. I've found that it works better as a cleaner rather than a lubricant.

Really nasty stuff. Be sure to do it outside and use gloves.

OK, so the general consensus is that i need to stop complaining and clean the damn things.

I just wanted to know if there was some cool trick that i didnt know about.

Play dough will dry out and shrink. Then I blow it out with compressed air.

If you are using the release agent that comes with Acraglas kits all you have to do is blow it off with compressed air. Then use a toothpick to get any out of the small corners.

Johnson paste wax. Makes a very good moisture barrier on blued guns. Kinda like RainX on your windshield

I use Johnson past wax. probably too much.

For slick finish on the bedding buff it lightly like shining shoes. That's for those old enough to remember doing that

When cleaning using alcohol or acetone, utilize an old toothbrush, works better than a toothpick. Some areas where clay and playdoh are used, you can simply cover up with tape and save the hassle when it comes to cleaning up.

The best thing about Play Doh is that it dries out and comes out easily.

I use carb cleaner and a paper towel. To get the epoxy off i heat it up and rub or scrape with my fingernail
