The regime that seems to work in IBS score matches here in NE PA is Butches Bore Shine with bronze brush at end of agg (50-60 shots). Follow up with Iosso on a patch or nylon brush short-stroking -concentrating mostly in the throat and eventually work your way to the muzzle.......bronze brush with BBS again 3 passes and patch clean. Iosso should be done at end of agg or at least every other agg to prevent carbon ring. You are correct in not trying to disrupt a recipe that works.

I've used danzac coated bullets in everything I own for more than a few years. The product seems to have the advantages of moly without the disadvantages. I have never had a problem with it. I use Patch Out with Accelerator. I have tried a few other things experimentally, but always return to Patch Out. I typically shoot a match (125-150 rounds) and clean the next morning. In most cases I wet a patch with Accelerator and then Patch Out and push it through the barrel. I then make up another patch the same way and push it through. I allow the barrel to sit for about a half hour. I push a clean patch through and repeat the process. In most cases this is enough. I have occasionally used JB, but not often. There is no need or good reason to try and remove the coating from the inside of the barrel. If you do it will just take longer to re-coat by firing bullets.

if you are using a bronze brush on a coated bbl you are DEFEATING the BENEFITS of coated bullets.

start with a carbon remover, your choice and then patches or cotton swabs...no brushes.

the fired bullets coat the bbl. it takes time to fully treat a bbl. metal brushes remove the coating.....why would you do that.

It has been my experience and that of several of my colleagues that typically the bore is seasoned after just ONE fouler.....as a matter of fact I had a 30BR HV that shot the same POA including the fouler. I use Danzac on .222 6 PPC and 30BR with good results. I have witnessed shooters employing this technique break quite a few records........ That, in itself is good enough for me. I think some of you equate WS2 with Moly ....which it is Not.

the benefit of coatings is consistancy over a long time........50-80 shots or more.
in my opinion short range bench rest has the opportunity in a match, but not in a relay....too few shots.
my opinion is that if bench rest shooter is cleaning every relay, he never sees the benefit of coating.

so at this point we are comparing apples to oranges.

short session vs long sessions....

I always used a dry mop coated with WS2 to dry burnish the bore after cleaning. My first shot was in the group. I had to stop using it because I couldn't get enough powder in the case to make it to the node I wanted. I just couldn't get the pressure up.

I'm going to try HBN on my next barrel just for grins.

I stated that with WS2 we typically clean at the end of the Agg (aggregate which in the case of IBS Score is a warm-up match followed by 5 record matches). By pre-loading and using WS2 it allows us to shoot multiple classes provided their is enough relays. It also allows match directors a chance to compete.
