cleaning a 22WMR

Do you clean a 22wmr the same way as a standard 22rf? All of the bullets are metal jacketed so you have jacket fouling as apposed to lead fouling. And then the correct procedure to clean, rod, jag, brush size? Also would you clean them frequently as you would a center fire? I have noticed in mine that it likes to be clean! Also what do you use as a bore guide since there is not a chamber big enough to fit a bore guide in the chamber. Thank You for the help!! RW

I use Bore-Tech Rimfire Blend on my .22 LR's, since I use only standard velocity (non-plated) ammo and Rimfire Blend contains no ammonia. On jacketed ammo, including .22 magnum I use Shooter's Choice. Otherwise the procedures are basically the same for both cartridges; bronze bore brush, bore guide on bolt actions, cleaning jag (nickel plated preferred for jacketed bullets so they don't give a false indication of Cu fouling) and patches till they come out white.
